Francisco Baquerizo

Quito, Ecuador, 1993.

 

He obtained a degree in Visual Arts from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (2017). His work is developed from drawing and painting, as means of arriving at other languages and means within contemporary artistic practices.

 

His first solo exhibition, Observing: Time, was presented in 2017. He has been part of group exhibitions in some of the most renowned artistic spaces of Ecuador. Baquerizo was shortlisted for Premio Brasil – Arte Emergente 2017, a prize that selects the most important young artists of Ecuador. He was selected by the School of Art of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile for the Molten Capital Artistic Residency in July of 2018. Baquerizo lives and works in Quito.
